The story behind it
There’s something quite absurd about carrying kilos and kilos of gear up a mountain, voluntarily freezing, and ending up eating freeze-dried food while trying not to lose feeling in your fingers. And yet… then a sky like this appears, the snow turns pink for a few minutes, and you remember exactly why you’ve done it all over again. I suppose the mountains have this strange ability to give you beautiful moments that make everything else worthwhile, reminding you that being alive doesn’t always feel comfortable… but sometimes it feels incredibly beautiful. And that’s how I see silence: a place of refuge and intimacy.
