Irina Gîndea
I paint mountains. More precisely, I paint the feeling of being inside a mountain landscape — the weight of silence, the blue of shadows on snow, the way a path disappears into fog.
My work is rooted in walking. Many of my paintings begin as small sketches made outdoors in the Pyrenees, then grow slowly in the studio into something more deliberate. I work in watercolor because of its honesty: what goes down stays, and mistakes become texture.
I’m interested in the places where memory and landscape meet — the routes we walk again and again, the feeling of arriving somewhere familiar after a long absence.
Each painting is made by hand, one at a time. I don’t print, I don’t reproduce. If a painting finds its way to you, it’s the only one.
On commissions and inquiries
I occasionally take commissions for mountain or landscape subjects. If you’re interested in a specific painting shown in my portfolio, you can submit an inquiry directly from the artwork page. For other questions, write to me via the contact page.
How buying a painting works
Every piece is an original, one-of-a-kind watercolor — there’s no store checkout, but the process is simple and direct.
1. Send an inquiry
Use the form on any available painting’s page, or write directly via the contact page.
2. We confirm details
I reply within a few days to confirm availability, final price, and answer any questions about the piece.
3. Payment
Once agreed, payment is arranged directly by bank transfer or another method that works for you.
4. Packing & shipping
Paintings are carefully packed (framed or rolled, depending on size) and shipped insured, with tracking.
