The story behind it

The Tide at Hendaye – Where Two Worlds Meet I owe myself this tide. I owe it to myself because, for so long, I've painted mountains, trails, summits, places to reach. Landscapes with coordinates, names, elevation gains and numbers attached to them. I owe it to myself because I've spent too much time thinking about what lasts and too little about what simply comes and goes. And this time, I wanted to paint the exact opposite. A landscape that appears, only to disappear a few hours later. No summit, no destination, and no need to get anywhere. Where two worlds meet, where borders become rather pointless, and for a few hours, it doesn't really matter which side you're on. Although I have to admit, there's something quite funny about ending up looking for stability in something that comes and goes twice a day.
